Door handles

How do you fix door handles that come with a flange that prevents you screwing them on the door?

Mine come with a two part surround. The front, decorative part screws into a thread on the rear part, which is itself punched with holes to allow it to be screwed to the door.

IOW they don't come with a flange that prevents you screwing them on the door? Interesting.

The circular door handle is attached to the decorative flange with a circlip (so it's free to rotate to operate the door catch). Once the decorative part has been screwed onto the rear part it holds the door handle in place and hides the fixing screws.

Superglue?

Are they the sort that fit to the spindle with grub screws?

Drill the flange yourself?
