Why does the large fuse on the supply that comes into the house before supplying the meter have a rating of 415VAC (110A) rather than 240VAC?
Thanks

Hi, Same part is used in 3 phase supplies where 415V faults could occur, keeps things simple
Probably because the fuse insulation has to withstand 415 volts between phases. Even if you only have one phase they probably don't want to fit
240v ones in case you get more than one phase.Have something to add? Share your thoughts — no account required.
