I don't get this at all.
We have a John Lewis dishwasher JLDWW1206 about 5 years old.
It has suddenly started leaking at the door so I took the front panel off to let me see what was going on whilst the machine is working.
The four sides of the interface between door and chamber are sealed with two units - the first a continuous 3-sided seal, top and sides, in the body of the machine, the second a seal along the bottom edge of the door which mates with the chamber floor.
BUT...the door seal actually has two gaps in it so it was never continuous. And of course some water can sneak around the meeting corners of the two seals when the door is close.
The chamber floor has a lip which is about an inch or more higher than the door seal, outside the door, if you see what I mean. This means that there will always be some water *outside* the not-so-sealed working chamber but of course if it's static then it just sits there.
However, it's extremely clear, with the front panel off, that water is spurting out through the two gaps in the bottom seal such that it achieves espace velocity over the lip and out in the outside world.
I don't get it!
Nothing has changed. Except suddenly this morning the machine is spurting water out.
Can there be *any* explanation of this other than the level of water in the machine is higher than it should be - perhaps if a level sensor is failing?
I really can't see what else, as the chamber has clearly never been actually *sealed* and watertight, it must always have relied on this lip to retain the seepage around the seal.
