I've having to re-build the baffle plate for my oil central heating boiler. The original plate was, I'm told, a fibre glass material and has broken u p. I've been given a sheet of one inch thick compressed vermiculite to bui ld a new one out of gluing it together with fire cement.
The instruction was to put it in the wood burning stove to bake the cement. Could I not do the 1st stage of baking in a controlled environment like t he domestic oven ?
Thanks Rob
