Coupler required for dishwasher inlet hose

Hi,

Is it possible to get a coupler to join two dishwasher hoses together? I bought a 2.5m hose for my dishwasher and it's just inches too short :-(. A 3.5m one is 3 times more expensive :-(.

It depends on how the tube is made.. If its one of those horrible spiral wrap things its hard to joint.. If its one of the other types then a short bit of hose from an aquarium place and a couple of hose clips will do it. Tube comes in different sizes so take a sample with you.

He did say inlet hose, I assume you are referring to the outlet hose which is easily joined, as you say.

they fit 3/4" BSP threads so a 3/4" BSP male x 3/4" BSP male coupler or a suitable length of threaded tube (called a nipple) would do. Ask at a proper plumber's merchants rather than a DIY store.

Or, if you want to go the DIY store route, 2 easily available 3/4BSP to 15mm compression couplings and a short piece of 15mm tube to connect together.

Yup, I used a nylon 3/4 male to 3/4 male fitting, should be able to get them at your local washing machine repair place. They're also available from

for the princely sum of 12p. Part no 11267, but I should give them a quick bell as they list the fitting 19mm(3/4"), just to be certain it is 3/4bsp.

Opps, that will teach me to read the title more carefully.

In that case get a 3m length of plastic pipe and a 15 mm push fit coupler and move the tap, much easier.

In article , Marky P writes

Cut fittings off, join with short length of copper pipe and two jubilee clips to secure.

Thanks guys! Forgot I posted this thread :-). I didn't mention that I haven't got the dishwasher yet (it's arriving early next week) and if the pipe connection is at the top, it will definately reach. If it's at the bottom, it will be a bit of a stretch. Don't want too much tension as the hose goes to a nasty plastic Y splitter.
