Cordless drills - "Combi" or "Drill Driver" - what the difference?

Hi,

I've been looking through various catalogues/ web sites at Cordless drills.

They seem to categories cordless drill into 2 types - "combi drill", and "drill driver". Checking the specs on both, they seem very similar

- i.e. designed for Drilling holes in various materials, and screw driving.

The following 2 models from screwfix are both Makita 14.4v models, and look pretty much the same - however one is a "combi", the other a drill driver.

The combi has a hammer mode for easier drilling of masonry.
