What is the best way to clean fabric car seats?
I have a carpet cleaning machine and chemicals etc.
Do you have to pre-spray?

Depends how dirty, sweaty or spunky they are ;)
Thats all you need, plus an old towel to catch any overspray.
Depends how dirty they are. Most car seats are 100% synthetic, so they don't stain very much, pre spray 'wets out' the fabric & makes cleaning easier.

Thanks, there is something that confuses me though..
I know quite a few valeters who simply spray a solution (usually APC), agitate it and use a wet vac to suck all the moisture out.
They do this on carpets and seats.
Is this method as effective as hot water extraction?
No. But its quick & cheap. Valeters are by & large thick cheapskates. There is precious little money in valeting these days, so they cut cost wherever possible.
Will only give surface soil removal. Likely to leave a chemical residue which will attract dirt in future.
Thanks, will be doing our own car soon so will have to get some Prochem Extraction Pro and Multi Pro to use with the Rug Doctor.
