chrome waste pipe

Is it correct that only pushfit will properly connect chrome waste to plastic pipes (bathroom sink sized)?

My general expereince has been that nothing will connect them.

If you are VERY lucky, and take the pipe in with you to a good plumber merchants, you may find lurking somewhere something that fits. It wont fit your plastic pipes, but at least it gives you something plastic to start with, and a mess of shims of split bits of pipe and loads of solvent weld eventually results in something that fits the pipes at each end.

Yes the Pipe is to BS 5454 (cf BS 5455 solvent weld) so plastic compression (ugly) and 35mm (chromed?) brass compression, or push fit waste pipe fittings should all fit.
