Water leak into Combi - Urgent.

Jan 28, 2009 4 Replies

Hi all. We had some water leak from the bathroom into the kitchen below. Water flowed down the wall and into switched fuse and into the combi boiler. This has buggered up the kitchen ring main. I've changed the switched fuse for a new one and had a fan blowing air on everything for a couple of hours. But the circuit breaker still trips.

Should I call a corgi guy or an ordinary electrician?

Thanks.

My vote is an electrician - he will have the diagnosis skills and instruments.

You should buy your own dehumidifier ...

Yes. You could go a bit further yourself. Completely disconnect the boiler from the switched fuse and try again. That will tell you if it's the boiler or associated circuitry (thermostat, etc), or some part of the premises wiring up to the switched fuse.

Thanks gents. It was a dodgy socket behind the washer...hangin off the wall.....so ashamed....
