capping off shower hose outlet

Hi all

Haven't viewed this myself yet

Son in rented house has a shower over the bath plumbed into a mixer on the wall

Bath mixer tap also has a shower hose option but is not needed, however when running a bath the shower outlet leaks a bit and he would like to cap it off

What would be best thing to do this with?

Is it likely to be the same thread as a 1/2" compression fitting, if so |I could use the nut with a blanking disk and tap washer inside

Buy a push-fit connector and push it on to the pipe. Don't look for over complicated solutions!

This would suggest the selector switch on the bath mixer is not as effective as it should be.

There is a pretty good chance it is 1/2" BSP the same as a compression fitting. An ordinary stop end may do what you want.

Pushfit is for pipes, not 1/2" BSP threaded stubs poking out the top of mixer taps.

Hi John

Pointed me in the right direction I think a blanking cap is what I need
