When I built the extension to our house some 25 years ago, I found a door mat that sits in a 35mm deep well just inside the front door so that it is flush with the floor. It is a open structure and the dirt collects in a flexible 'rubber' tray.
The tray has worn through and the whole thing needs replacing. I'm told by Her-In-Doors that she cannot find one like it anywhere.
Can anyone help ?

We have one at our entrance but it doesn't use a rubber tray. Just sites in the recess which has a steel trim around it,

a search for that might prove more fruitful
You can buy it like carpet, and it comes in different thicknesses so it can be selected to match thickness of any carpet/underlay combination. My local carpet shop supplied some cut to measure some years back.
I/we bought good quality doormat by the meter from our local carpet shop . Padded out the front and back door wells with thin ply to make it flush. It looked like heavy duty carpet so in the end we carpeted the whole of the front porch with it.
