I'm in need of some 80 grit and was attracted by the cloth backing of this Bosch j450 but failed to find reviews of it. Any experience (or superior searching) please?

Cloth backed abrasives are generally for machine use, (i.e) belt sanders large and small. They would have little advantage in other uses.
Generally more flexible than most paper backed abrasives, so better suited to sanding complex shapes by hand.
