Bosch diswasher - mechanical fault

I have a 10yr old Bosch dishwasher. It still performs great but thepowder/tablet dispenser lid now fails to lock in place. Normally thisdelays the release of the tablet for a short while after starting thewash.I believe Bosch repairs must be done by a Bosch repair specialist, butas there are none in my area I feel the cost of calling in one would beprohibitive.What is the reason for the delayed release? Can I get by with puttingthe tablet in with the crockery when I start the machine?

You can get a complete unit from the Bosch soares website. They only take a cople of days to deliver.

Bit don't do that! They cost a fortune. Replace the blue arm. On my machine, there is a lever on the other end of the blue arm's spindle. I found that impossible to remove non-destructively, so I ordered both 'kits' - the one with the blue arm, sealing washer, and the spring for the cover - and the one containing the lever and a shiny new spring for that. About 8 quid total plus postage.
