Bolier Problem

Hi,

Had a worcester boiler fitted 6 months ago, but recently if you look in through the viewing hole on the front, the burners on the right are producing a yellow flame rather than the usual blue flame. Also when you look at the outside flue there is now a sooty deposit above it and a covering on the flue(the flue was new aswell). A freind suggested that there may be some dust/debris on the burners, but this has be going on for a few weeks now, so I thought it would of burnt off by.

Get it seen to ASAP. The air post could be blocked, fans speed to low, etc. It is under guarantee so get it seen to.

It has some kind of fault. This may be to do with the flue or other delivery of air to the boiler.

You don't say whether it has a room sealed or conventional flue, but either way combustion is not happening properly and the appliance is not running efficiently. It is probably making excessive carbon monoxide as well.

It needs to be professionally serviced and rather quickly.

This doesn't normally get better by itself. Actually, it normally gets worse very quickly, as the soot is just more dust/debris to block up even more of the airflow and exhaust path. I don't know your particular boiler though.
