I've got a small gap between strips of heavily textured BVW. After wetting this stuff will it stretch a little..or be moved about a sixteenth?

No, even if you wet it and join the seams it will contract back to its original position.

are going to paint it?, you could try filling it with decorators caulk and try matching the pattern, with a couple of coats of paint it will be less noticable.
