I agree, voltage ratings don't generally follow any E-series values.

I'm intrigued. The E-Series of values was invented circa 1950s:

I said bisexual like bipolar (the real name) - because it will go either way. Asexual would mean it went neither way, that wouldn't be a useful capacitor.

In series? So a reversely connected capacitor is a dead short?

Could I therefore use a pair of polarized caps connected as such?
