Blanking plug for loft header tank?

Bleargh, I've messed up a 20mm hole in the side of the loft header tank (plastic, 114 litres) used for the toilets. It's above the water line but I really ought to seal it up!

Where can I find some sort of threaded proper blanking plug with washer and nut to seal this up with?

thanks,

Michael

Thanks. I suppose the 3/4" (19mm) overflow stopper should be about right. I'm assuming it'll work OK with the curvature of the round tank, which is about 70cm in diameter.

That looks as though it might be 3/4" BSP thread, which is actually

26.4mm diameter.

Bloody marvellous. So I've got to buy a hole cutter to make the hole bigger in order to fill it in?

Leave the tank connector in a fit a push fit end stop on the pipe.

If you can get a 1/2" BSP blanking plug, that should be about the right size. Of course, I could be wrong about the size, but I handle BSP fittings every day and don't think I am.

You're right, it looks as though 1/2" BSP threads are just over 20mm (major diameter) so I can file out the hole a fraction if it's too tight a fit.

The annoying thing was that most of my web search results for items such as blanking plugs, cistern blanking plugs, etc, didn't say what the actual thread or hole sizes were, so I was none the wiser as to which model to purchase! An absolute pain.

However, eventually I worked out that most of them are either 1/2 BSP or

3/4 BSP.

Slow progress, just for a silly little hole...
