Hi all,
In the loft at the weekend.
Our cold water header tank is extremely noisy when it fills. If someone flushed the loo for instance the noise in the loft is very loud. A quick investigation of the tank showed the valve to almost be a stalactite of deposit, (it must be old). So Im going to replace that. I noticed that there are two types of replacement valves, a part 1 and a part 2.
Which do I need and is there such a thing as a quiet filling valve?
The tank itself doesnt have a proper lid and the previous occupants had just draped insulation across it. So I need to sort that out also.
The bottom of the tank is covered in sediment (or rust) hard to tell. And there is a ring of scale around the rim. Whats the best way to clean this out and remove it?
Thanks, Matthew
