Black slate floor tiles

A couple of black slate floor tiles that have been on the kitchen floor for 20+ years have de-laminated in one corner and 1/4 thick piece has broken off.

Can anyone suggest a suitable glue for sticking back these pieces. They will fit together back in the hole but will need something very thin as a glue so they don't sit proud from the rest of the tile. also for cosmetic reasons nothing that could possibly migrate though any cracks and stain the surface of the tile.

Not much migrates through slate. Use epoxy and clamp the part down.

You should be able to carefully scrape any excess off before it is fully set

I have to say, its not that easy to glue anything like slate or stone. Can you not replace the wonky or broken tiles?

It would also be interesting to know what made them split that way, were they actually cracked in the first place, or was something heavy dropped on them? Brian
