Bissell 7920 and perfect pass

Has any got one of the Bissell 7920 with perfect pass (the lights that tell you how fast to move the cleaner) My lights have stopped working, or only flash occasionally .

Has any one seen this problem, apart from that the cleaner seems to be working

I've got one.

But it works fine - sorry.

If you've had it for a while I guess you prolly know how slow to go anyway?

I've got one, (well 3 actually), the first one had a problem wth the lights not working so Bissell swapped it. You don't really need them, we've been using carpet cleaners for years and never needed lights. It's like Muller yoghurts, we didn't need the ingredients in seperate halves of the pot, I'm sure we'd manage if they were mixed together at the factory.

They recently released the Proheat 2, which is exactly the same pretty much apart from the lack of perfect pass lights. I would assume that this is\was a common problem so they ditched them. If it was a common problem they may be willing to replace it out of warranty.

they sound a bit more useful than the "forward / back" LEDs on my Bosch IXO screwdriver, or the completely innacurate battery condition lights on the NICd battery packs of my "Maxwerx" drill/driver - I wish they'd spent more on the gearbox or batteries .....

The reason I asked is because mine worked perfectly for the first 2 hours of use, and then failed. I took it back and got my money back, mainly because they did not have any more.

I was also looking at the model with out the lights (at their competitor), the Bissell 1698K Purple.

I would have chosen this model. The lights were not important but at the last minute I noticed that the main brush on the Bissell 1698K Purple did not seem as good as the model I had purchased (7920) so instead use purchased the 7920.

The reason I selected 7920 over the 1698K was I considered the 7920 to have superior parts and therefore superior cleaning.

The cleaner did clean my floors very well (while it worked).

Has any one ever compared the 7920 & 1698K, and any recommendations on which one to purchase. The price difference is around £70 the 7920 being the most expensive.

Off the top of my head, the new Bissell Pro-Heat 2 is exactly the same as the original 7920 but without Perfect Pass. Quite a bit cheaper too at 200GBP from memory. I wouldn't have a problem with having one instead of what I've got.

How new is the Pro Heat 2 I can only find a mention of it on KelCoo, no major highstreet stores. Has it got another name ? I guess I will give it a month or so to appear

We've had a some in stock for a couple of months, I'd have thought that they would be in most stores by now. You can't miss them, they're red!

Red? the only Red Bessel I can find is the normal dry cleaner (where the middle comes out). I've even been looking all over the place even on the Bessel uk sales site , no sign of the deep clean model.

Do you have a link to you businesses website?

Looking on Kelkoo sight there it is the mysterious red Pro Heat 2, but no where else including bessill. Think I will drop bessill an email to ask them whats happening.

Well, you've done better than me. I can't find it anywhere. I'd be inclined to get in touch with Bissell. We don't have a website for the shop up yet unfortunately. How much is it on Kelkoo?

The link to the Kelcoo site is

found them through goggle with "Bessill Pro Heat 2" as the search string. But its only them and no one else , including the Bissell website uk and us

I emailed Bissell Yesterday, but so far no reply

Wondering if the model was pulled shortly after release ? I honestly have no idea ?
