I probably wouldn't buy anything 'expensive' via banggood (It operates like Amazon Marketplace) but for cheap stuff from China, it's OK.

It's the usual Chinese stuff, often variable quality. It's fine, in the sense that they do deliver the things you order, timescales based on the usual whims of China logistics. They claim to have EU warehouses which might make it a bit quicker but with a much more limited stock, don't think I've used those.
Slightly better than playing pot luck on Aliexpress, but as with most Chinese stuff I wouldn't buy anything I might need to return.

LEDs don't come anywhere near spec. It's Chinese... what do you expect.

We've used them a few times, they are OK but I did hear that some of their fake arduinos wouldn't work with some standard library files as the hardware wasn't fully compatable.
Not had any tools from them.

I've found them fine.
I'd pay extra (usually only a pound or so) for the quickest method of sending. One parcel did take 3 months using over-land.
Keep the packaging including the postal info - a photo should do. For reasons that never became clear, they refused to even discuss a warranty claim without it. OTOH, they refunded a non-arrival quickly and without question.
Be prepared for inexplicable and frequent changes in price (even browsing seems to affect it), and being showered with vouchers and offers. I've also used Gearbest to sanity check the pricing, and also ordering - similar experience to Banggood.
Cheers, Rob

I assume you bought them because they were cheap - so got what you paid for?

I didn't buy them because they were far from the claimed specs. How this is of any relevance I'm not sure.

Sometimes a manufactrer will sell stuff that doesn't come up to standard but they don't have the time or inclination to change the specs of the product, so sell it on as not guaranteed.

Err, how do you know they didn't meet the claimed spec?

I bought a small autoranging true RMS multimeter from Banggood recently. Works well, good standard of construction a faster than advertised delivery.
I've read various discussions on various forums about multimeters and many have complained about poor standards of construction (with photographic proof), current range overload bypassed (fuses replaced with wire links, etc.) obtained from a number of Chinese suppliers but folk whove bought from Banggood have never had any problems.
It's a similar story with small digital oscilloscopes - quality of build, old PCB revisions, outdated software, etc. Again, no complaints about those supplied by Banggood.
I'm not saying they're perfect but I'd rather trust them than anybody else.
Of course, they cover a wide range of products so whether these same standards extend to other classes of products, I don't know.

I've been buying stuff from them for that last few years. Stuff like arduino uno's and nano's ,and associated bits etc as well as couple of led strips which were ok for a while, and did what I wanted them for. Also bought 2 smartphones over the last few years which I've had no problems with.
Coming from China usually takes between 3 and 4 weeks, but from a UK or European wharehouse, about a week or less.
If you don't mind the wait, it's worth it, for me it was.

Ok can I ask why you didn't buy them, and how you knew they weren't up to spec. What was the spec or how they missed out on achieving that spec as that is sometimes important when deciding whether or not it;s worth buying a a component that is out of spec. Here's the reason we wouldn't buy these particualar ardiniunos from banggood at the time.
