B&Q to close over 60s card

B&Q will no longer accept new members for its over 60s Diamond Club discoun t scheme from 3 September - and will restrict the offer to gardening produc ts.

Over 60s can currently get 10% off all B&Q products in store on a Wednesday if they are members of the Diamond Club - but from 3 September the discoun t is being reduced to around 10,000 gardening products.

If you're over 60 and want to get a Diamond card, you need to get one in st ore before Monday 3 September.

The B&Q Club which gives members a £5 off £30 voucher and money-o ff vouchers when they use their membership card in store will continue as n ormal.

And me. 10% off B&Q prices is still way above what you could pay by shopping around.

And anyway, it should be the female state retirement age, not

60 - Ditto 'free' prescriptions, also 60+, an interesting anomaly.

The biggest anomaly is the TV license.

Aged over 75 it's free, but blind people only get a 50% discount.

That's because the guide dog can still see the pictures.

It can be anything a private company decides it to be.
