B&Q's own brand silicon kitchen sealant is crap

Anyone else noticed this? I've been using their white goo for sinks/ worktops and it looked great for a few weeks, but then started to shrink. It's got so thin in the middle of the bead (where it should be thickest, of course) that it's actually parting away in places and letting water through by the look of it. I'm going to have to remove it all and re-do it with some proper stuff like Unibond for example. Just wondered if anyone else has noticed this and what's the best way to removed the crappy old sealant if it doesn't pull away cleanly - as seems likely?

cheers,

CD

Its possibly not silicone at all, but acrylic.

Toolstation sell silicone cheap as chips and its good stuff.

Only ever used Dow Corning 785 (after recommendation). Good for years and highly mould resistant. You'll pay more for this than for B & Q crap though!
