In summer?

And that is so brilliant in the hot weather.

In summer, the heat in my kitchen could be suffocating, and I had to shut my Rayburn down - which meant cooking on a Baby Belling, and using the immersion heater for hot water. We no longer use the Rayburn.

And did you ever manage to produce the 3-course meal for a family of four on a Baby Belling as promised by the adverts?

I keep seeing adverts for Digital Air Fryers. How does Digital Air differ from Analoge Air?

One has touch pads, the other has one or more control knobs.

It has more bits in it :-)

In summer, the heat in my kitchen can be suffocating, and I have to shut my Aga down - which means cooking on the barbecue or (extremely rarely) using the electric cooker. I use an oil boiler for hot water.

One cost more than the other and is less reliable

When we were first married, 49 years ago, 'twas not a Baby Belling we had but a WEE Baby Belling, with just a single hot plate and which required the moving of a baffle plate to change from oven to grill.

I have always regretted donating it to my nephew at boarding school some 30 years ago.

Its the controls of the fryer, not the air, stupid.

Why ?. Just use the immersion on a timer. 1/3 hour in the morning and 1/2 hour in the evening is all one person needs.

We've just got one of these:

Well worth a look (the AF300 is smaller but only £20 cheaper).

Our first two years at Uni we lived in a hall of residence and had a Baby Belling. As I recall, it had two hot plates, and a grill / oven.

We made good use of a pressure cooker. To cook a ‘roast chicken’, we would cook it in the pressure cooker and brown it in the oven.

We certainly cooked means for 4 people on more than one occasion.

I think people assume they are fryers - like deep fat fryers- rather than small fan ovens, which- at least for the type we have- is a more accurate description. Being much smaller than a ‘main’ oven, they waste less energy etc.

My catering dept. has one (AF400)and seems well pleased. Outside my skill set so no personal experience.
