Adhesive tape on Travertine FAQ

Dec 17, 2024 1 Replies

My bathroom has travertine covered walls.

The YIGII stainless steel hand towel holder came with a self-adhesive pad on the back. This seemed to be fine when first carefully applied but after several months the holder fell off.

Theoretically the side facing the wall could be cleaned and reapplied but it didn't last.

Eventually I bought some clear double-sided adhesive tape. That lasted for a few months. It was however, narrower than the rail. I was tempted to buy some more, this time 2.3cm wide but before doing so, I thought I would ask here if anyone had found the perfect adhesive tape for travertine.

TIA

No idea about travertine but I'd look at the 3M range. I've found their products to be much better than unbranded alternatives. They have different grades of adhesive tape, from the post-it easy removal stuff to things to hold cars together.

For a towel holder it's going to be taking a decent amount of weight so I'd want the contact area to be as large as possible.
