I just bought a GoPro Hero video camera (to mount on my race car). It came with a grab bag of mounting hardware, although sadly not a standard tripod mount (*). It does have a selection of "stick-on" mounts using
3M VHB (+) tape. I was a bit dubious about this stuff, especially since it didn't seem that sticky once I peeled the backing off, but bloody hell! I stuck one of the mounts onto my Manfrotto roll-bar camera mount and now it simply will not come off. If I wanted to remove it, I think I'd have to cut through the tape. Don't stick this on anything you aren't prepared to damage, getting it off!
I think I shall lay some of this stuff in for future eventualities. I suspect you could glue houses together with this.
(* 'En route' from China for the grand total of £2.99 including P&P. How do they do it for the money?)
(+ "Very High Bond" - they aren't kidding.)
