1998 Matilda RC model by Logistix, how to remove cover?

Dec 27, 2017 2 Replies

I have a 1998 radio controlled 'Matilda' (Robot Wars toy). I need to take her cover off to try and fix a mechanical fault inside - one motor is not turning its wheel.

I can't work out how to get inside her. I've undone the 4 screws in the base but there are 4 more inside the wheel arches that you can only get at if you remove the wheels. I tried pulling the wheels off but they don't 'give'.

Any thoughts?

thanks

Robert

I think this must be what they mean by a teardown:

Unfortunately she doesn't lose her wheels.

I have one wheel working very well (fast and with great torque!) but the other wheel is very half hearted, so she spins around a lot! Its a shame because it looks like it it would be a fantastic robot if i can fix it. Did you get the wheel off? Did you finally get anywhere? Normally I can find a solution via google when I get stuck, but this is the only mention I have ever found!
