Just water hosed-in or dumped-in will get you most of the way to clean. Keep filling the sump while the pump pumps out the water and any debris. After that, you can use a toilet brush and toilet cleaner or bleach to scrub the pit and pump back to brand new. Flush the chemicals and any additional debris by again flushing the sump with clean water.
