The new McFeelys

The new owners have a sort of clunky new web site, and did not manage to retain any of the older customers' accounts or purchase histories. In fact, when they reopened they posted a message on the site telling customers to contact them (!)

Take the old one off, and go visit the oldest local free-lance appliance repair place you can find. They will likely have something in their junk box or old stock, or maybe in a junk stove out back that hasn't been recycled yet.

Glue for glasses

I had to do some running repairs on my rimless glasses over the weekend, the bridge and arms have pairs of 0.5mm pins that fit into holes drilled in the lenses, with a plastic "gasket" that pushes in from the other side to hold them in place ... one of which dropped off ...

A number of years ago I purchased a Shop-Vac brand vacuum to replace an old Hercules that was giving up the ghost. At that time Hercules was still available.

OT Getting rid of a cat

I dont "shop" for them. I just take those who need a home. Never paid for one yet. a few times I found "free kitens" at rummage sales and brought them home. 5 or 6 is about right for my needs, but I have had as many as 16 at a time. Seems some of them just vanish over time.
