Shared woodworking space in SF Bay Area

I can't find the shop you're talking about in San Jose. Can you tell me what to search for? month for access to a shop like this? Rent for the warehouse would be about $750 from what I've seen (not counting utilities, etc.).

built-in bookshelves - on top of flooring or not?

I want to build (and finish) it in the shop and then install. I suspect there'll be several trips from the shop to the house for "dry fits". thanks for all the advice. -j

hand saw teeth protection

Did you ever take a saw out of the shop to a job? Some of us don't get to keep our tools safely hanging on a nail in the shop. A saw in a tool box is going to get dull rattling around with hammers and pry bars and such. We like to protect our teeth. It makes for a nice smile.

Eye protection

Curious about decent eye protection when ripping on a TS, I get all the little flecks into my eyes at the shop. The only protection I can use the shop provides (adult ed.) in the form of very old poor quality ones with plastic lenses that are scuffed.

OT: Boy it sure is quiet here this Sat. AM

Yes there are some modifications, such as re-plumbing my garage errr SHOP for more effiecient use of the water to heat my 2160 sq ft. Thats just the shop, (eat your heart out). Thats only the first est. others are coming in this week.

Are their commericial shooting boards available?

I know that shooting boards are usually something thrown together in the shop as needed. But I was wondering if anyone knows of shooting boards being sold commerically that have more bells and whisles then might be found in shop made versions.

Glue open time

I don't have air conditioning in the shop. That's the worst time for this area. Usually past the high outside, but the shop is still rising, trying to equalize. Yesterday it was 99 at 6PM. Best time is first thing in the morning.

dust collector control

For a while I used a remote control by Shop Fox (I think). It seemed to work perfectly, but then I heard it turn the collector on long after I had quit for the day. I didn't like the idea of it possibly running while I was gone so I stopped using it.

Replace/weld Carbide tooth

Any good saw shop can replace them. Price varies widely. $2.50 to $8 is probably a pretty good range. Saw teeth whether new or replacement, should never come off whole and should be very hard to break. The technology is there.
