Please can anyone point me to a source for 30mm veneer pins? It is veneer pins (1.0mm dia with an inconspicuous head) that I am after, as against panel pins which are usually 1.6mm dia or moulding pins which rarely state a diameter.
Just use any contactless credit or debit card. If you've got more than one, make sure you use the same one for all journeys to take advantage of the daily caps. For example, bus fares are all £1.50/trip - any distance. Daily cap £4.50.

They give them away for free. From what I understand if you don't have a card that has a valid subscription, they won't work anyway. You might be able to find someone that knows how to hack them, but I don't think the boxes are worth much un hacked.
I have got one somewhere on the side of a useful double sized useful scientific info reference credit card thing. It was ages before I finally spotted that its mm divisions were 95% of real metric ones. It was a free give away at some trade show or other.

I don't know if it's the same one you are thinking of, but they are currently offering a free download of a drill press table plan at their site (registration required).
Most of the PBS stuff is free on their web site (either PBS.ORG or the local affiliates). There are plenty of other "cable" shows with web sites that stream their content.
