Router Table top

Anyway, I'm going to use MDF for most of the construction, but was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what to use for the top surface. More importantly, where can I buy it from? I was thinking of using a laminate counter top, but they're about $50 for a 4 x 8 sheet at the local ...

Table Top Question

The top is what has me wondering. Imagine a doughnut shaped top with a hole in the center holding a ceramic tile. The four sides are composed of trapezoids joined at the corners of the table by 45 degree angles. My question is - can this be made out of solid wood (maple ~1.5") ...

Torque Unisaw Top

http://www.hastingsmfg.com/Service%20Tips/torque.htmLists 40 foot pounds suggested torque for a 7/16" diameter bolt. It doesn't specify coarse or fine thread. Does it matter or is it 40 for both?

Bar Top Finish

Bar top made of 2 layers of 5/8 MDF and 1 layer of 1/4 Red Oak plywood glued up. Bar will probably wind up on the patio. (On oak barrel W/casters). After staining, how should I finish the top so it will stand up to some moisture and sun exposure?

Counter top questions

When gluing laminate, should I do the edge first then the top or viceversa? 2.) We are putting in a tile backsplash. Should we instal the tile first then install and butt up the countertop against the tile or should we install the countertop, and then install the backsplash?

I'm wondering if I could scuff up an existing formica top, and then install another layer of formica over it? I thought about tile but am finding it easier to shop for and afford laminate. Doing a new top is a possibility but I see no need to waste what is there and pay for a new ...

OAK Bench top

I have 2 calif black oak planks that I plan on using for a bench top 16" X 2 1/2" X 9'. This bench will be a shaker type. Now for my question--- can I glue these edge to edge or would it best to cut them and laminate them to form the bench top? - Richard, Richard L.

cutting table top

i would like to cut bean and boomerang shape tables out of 3/4 inch. plywood.ive been told a router will not do this on one cut with a jig & using a band saw to smoo9thly cut a continious curve is difficult.any input on how you would do this would be greatly appreciated.
