Residential hot water drop in pressure

May 15, 2006 2 Replies

Hi,

A relative of mine recently installed a bathroom fixture for the sink. And now there seems to be a drop in the hot water pressure throughout his house.

Any suggestions as to what may be the most likely causes?

Thank you, Dean

Dean,

Did your relative shut off the whole house, or did he maybe shut off the water heater valve? If the hot water pressure drop is system-wide, then either the cold feed to the water heater isn't on all the way, or there's some rust obstructing a main hot pipe somewhere. It'll take some detective work.

Mike

I "fixed" a customers water pressure problem just a couple of days ago by opening their main shut off valve all the way.
