It would have been a day or more to get Verizon out there, so like you did, temporary, maybe.
I called the next work day and said what I'd done and she seemed sincere when she said their repair wouldn't have been any better. I never did have problems with the line afaicr.

I have 3 chain saws but I don't think I want to chancw screwing any of them up digging a trench.
It sounds like an accident waiting to happen to me but most of the soil I'm familiar with has been variations on glacial till. I'd think a chain saw would fling rocks better than a rotary lawn mower.

Cable plow would be another name for them. We had an R65 Ditch Witch at work. It had the plow centered behind it. There was a trencher mounted behind the left of right tires. I don't remember which. No backhoe on the front, just a blade.
I've noticed in Europe they tend to run oudoor wire (like for fence doorbell, or outdoor lighting by above ground conduit, but USA above ground. Is that because they are 240V and we are 120V, because of humidity, or just my imagination?
