I purchased the "The Basement Watchdog" combo unit (primary sump pump with backup reassembled), before installing it I have one question, the location of the primary pump float switch on the unit will keep the top of the primary pump above water level and exposed, is it expectable to run the sump pump that way ?

If you havnt installed it yet and have city water look at this, it really pumps, unlike something with a battery that is very limited in total run time and 24hr gpm output.
