Stove height

I'm remodeling my kitchen My gas stove is about an inch and a 1/2 to 2 inches shorter than my counter Will the extending legs go that high and if they don't? How do I get my stove level with my counter?

Build a platform for it to sit on.

Would would be safe or should I use bricks since it's gas

What is the floor made of? Sure, a fire retarding material would be better but it the floor is already wood, does not matter.

You can make a simple wood platform and put a piece of drywall on top of it for extra safety. It could even be like a picture frame as long as the legs are supported.

Do a search for heat resistant tiles for stoves. Lowes has some. I have a gas stovetop on an island and it's not an issue.

If your stove is bounded on 3 sides by counters or the wall, so that it can't move much, like mine is, and the legs are within 3" of the outside of the stove so they'll sit on the wood, I would think just 4 2x4's lying on their wide side and screwed together as a square would do fine. That will add 1.75" iirc, the width of a 2x4.

I've had a couple hot things come off the stove, but they've never landed under the stove. And though the stove is hot, one is allowed to put them on a wood floor, so they must not be that hot.

Don't get treated wood, I would think. It will add nothing valuable -- it's treated against rot, not fire or bad food -- and maybe it has fumes????

Even if your stove is not bounded, I've had stoves that weren't and they never moved.

In fact you might not even have to connect the 4 2x4's. Lift up the back of the stove and put in that one, then do the sides, and then the front. Post back in 2 years to tell us if anything moved.

1.5 inches these days. The 2x's in my 1926 house are 1.875"

Wow. I wonder how long until it gets down to 1.0.

The 2x10s in my barn are 2.00".

Are they very old?
