how long should it take a couple of roofers to strip off 10 bundles of shingles, lay full cover ice sheild and reshingle? No rot. Materials are on site.

3 hrs...tops
10 bundles. there are 3 seperate porch areas below the main roof to do. no "knitting" new with the old. i get nervous when a roofer states an hourly rate. i'd much rather have the full cost up front give or take a 100.00. is that reasonable? given pro's who do roofs for a living must have a time frame in mind.
Depends. If that is all that must be done, about 3 to 4 hours. (bundles, not squares, right?) You say it is a section Therein lies the potential problem. Working the new shingles in with old, re-doing flashing, drip edges, etc may double the time.
It is never as easy as you think it will be.
