Prefab shower pan question

Nov 06, 2003 2 Replies

Does anyone know if a shower pan exists that you can just install and tile right over? I have found many that are finished acrylics, but that is not what I am after.

Basically, I want to avoid having to pour a damn, hot mop, etc. I am looking for something about 42" x 42", with a drain 18" from 2 walls. It will go in a corner, against 2 walls.

I know that this is a tall order, but it occured to me that maybe there is some sort of pan that you can lay down and cut to fit. I have doubts that this is available, but I thought I would try you guys as one last measure.

Thanks,

Ryan

I doubt it exists. When you "cut to fit", it would not be a prefabricated pan anymore, just a leaky piece of plastic. Go to Home Depot or equivalent for a sheet of rubber made for shower pans, and get the correct kind of glue.

At our local Ace hardware store they have a mockup of a shower pan with a rubber membrane. Sounds like what your after...
