trump said he thought he had a deal with iirc GM to make iirc ventilators, but it turned out they didn't have a deal.
After I write the first sentence here, I often find I have good search terms:
I thought GM agreed to do it but said it would take until mid-May to start actually making them. Is that what happened and trump is missstating things?
Or was it something else?
I think what will end up happening is that even with invoking the Defense Production Act it will take just as long to make them. As to the price, maybe there will be a trial and GM will get 80% of what it is asking, not 10% like rump probably wants to pay.
I presume GM, or Ford, will get the plans, templates, sample machinery, and everything to make these things from the original manufacturer, even though we hear almost nothing about the original manufacturer.
BTW, while you can make a ventilator for a 100 dollars out of one of those rubber bags they use in the ambulance, the ones used in hospitals are much more complicated and do a much better job. See the picture at
