Economically, I don't think slaves were required but they were part of the culture. I'll admit I don't really get the Southron thing. By that I don't mean it upsets me but there is a mystique and mythology that I'm not equipped to understand. I do think that pulling down statues, changing names, and banning flags is utter bullshit. If there is any statue that should be pulled down, it's Lincoln.

I've explained already, it's not set up for selling. You could just as easily sell things on this newsgroup, but it would also be completely disorganised. On Ebay however, Paypal is linked easily to every sale, I have guarantees the seller won't rip me off, and it's very easy to find what I want in an organised way.

Nope, because there is no way to restrict your search to sellers or givers who are local to you.
Facebook Marketplace isnt. It separates the selling/giving from the other parts of facebook which are used for chatting and representing your company's operations etc.
Don't need Paypal when you show up that the seller/givers place and pay for it with cash or just take it away.
And no fees to facebook for sellers/givers/buyers/takers either.

I bought a car battery charger for 50p at a car boot sale. He even test= ed it for me (by plugging it in and touching the ends together briefly t= o cause a spark). I also bought a record player for 50p (no test), the = stylus was missing. I obtained a stylus for =A35 on Ebay then sold it f= ully working for =A340.
Craigslist here is pretty desolate.
We have lots of charity shops for second hand stuff, but 95% of it is ju= st clothes.

I don;'t have a way for a cat to get under my floor unless I have some flooring up to fix something. Anywhere a cat could get to, I can get to.

Corded electrics are a major pain in the ass. If I didn't chop the cord up it would be tangled around trees, poles, motorcycles, and everything else. A decent cordless is at least twice the cost. I don't have a postage stamp sized lawn so a cheap one would need recharging before I was finished.
The best of them arent and electric mowers are a pain in the arse with the cord.
My neighbor bought an electric and used it a few times. Then he found a better solution -- a grandson that mows it with a lawn tractor.
Yeah, that's what my grand nephew does, loves hooning around on that.
Fine if you have a huge lawn.
It's not rocket science to simply mow away from the power outlet. Then the cord is always on the ground where you've already mown.
Doesn't need to be huge.
