I WANT ONE !!!!

Probably will never be able to afford one though.

Guess it looks neat but does the world need it. Strange case apparently needed for high pressure. Probably would be fun toy if you can afford expensive toys.

How many of our gov't officials have vested interest in Sig ?

I can make do with what I have.

Maybe not that but I heard Glock gave goodies to officials to get police to adopt their guns.

I think of a gun as a tool and any tool can have multiple uses. I retired from hunting a while back and this one would not be allowed in PA or DE. The one shown has a suppressor which is illegal in DE. Not sure you could reload the brass with that steel base and even if you could that high pressure would make the brass lengthen a lot and after a few trimmings the case might fail. Ammo is not going to be cheap.

The high pressure is to keep the barrel short and the weight down. SIG is trying to get as close to the M4 as possible without all the draw backs of the M4

It can't.

Not right away anyway. WHne the Military gets into full Pray and Spray production levels, the price should come down to the civilian market the same are 5.56 did.

It is gorgeous!

In Afghanistan, our guys had to run through 200 Meters of fire before they could shoot back. And the bad guys could buy cheap body armor from Amazon to defeat their 5.56 M4's.

Plus, the M5 (military version of the 277 SIG Fury) is piston operated, not stupid direct impingement, so they do not have to carry around crates of Q-Tip to constantly clean out their star chambers.

There is a such thing as enough guns? Just when you think you know a guy!

:-)

I sold my M1A years ago. My only gun now is my Yankee's Fist.

Trouble is, every gun I see on Youtube, I want one. Have to disciple myself. There will be a nicer one tomorrow on youtube that I will not be able to afford either!

The 277 SIG FURY replace the FN-SCAR. And their is that really quiet 300 Blackout!

And .45 Supers too.

I am sure most of us have heard,"I have more guns than I need, but less than I want."

Not if somebody remembered where they stashed the M14's.

That's the fancy version. How it came about:

I like standard calibers. You know, the kind of stuff you might find laying around here and there if TSHTF. That was the AR problem. Push come to shove you weren't going to break down the belts for the gun and stuff it in an AR. The super fantabulous new caliber means there will be just another cartridge floating around the supply chain.

Awesome!

I thought of doing that to my M1A at some point. Then Obama's great recession hit and I sold it.

It looks like the M4 will still be used for the non front line soldiers for some time to come. Like the M1 Carbine was.

Then you get mad when people call guns like this assault rifles.

At least the M4 is useful. The M1 would be a fun plinker but the prices I've seen are ridiculous for what it is. I saw a movie from the '50s where a guy was sniping at people outside of a bar where a M1 was used. I've never been able to find the title again.

They were given to the Vietnamese, little guys, little rifles. Too bad the other little guys had AKs. Be careful when Uncle Sam gives you stuff. Yeah, Zelensky, I'm talking to you.

I see you have diarrhea of the keyboard today. Also have constipation of the brain.

I can not wait until his wokiness finds out that the military version of the 277 Sig Fury (the M5) with its full auto selector switch is also not an "assault" rifle.

The M5 is a "Battle Rifle", like the FN-FAL, the M14, the M1, FN-SCAR, the AR-10, etc..

The difference being, sung to the AT&T commercial tunes of the past, because it can "reach out, reach out, and touch someone!"

The term "Battle Rifle" aught to get their panties in a real twist. Unfortunately, I think they might actually be wearing panties. You never know with wokies now-a-days.
