Hello. I just got a new PVC fence. I am on a corner and told both neighbors (side and behind) since they have dogs and hey share my fence (they don?t have their own). Now, the neighbor behind me decided to ask my fence installer to install a matching gate for his yard entrance with is perpendicular to my fence, but now it sticks out smack in the middle of my fence. I am so annoyed and wish he would have told me so we could figure out a solution. Do I say something or say something to the fence guy who did my fence? We moved there in September and I don?t want to cause problems but I?m really pissed. I?ll attach a before and after picture.

Have a couple of glasses of wine and don't let it bother you. The peeling paint on his fascia board is more of an eyesore.

It would not occur to most people to think about that a fence that is entirely on their property would be objectionable to you because it's slightly higher and visible over your fence. I don't think I would have thought about it possibly being an issue.

The fence guy just did what the neighbor paid him to do, put a fence on the property. I don't see what issue you could have with him. What exactly do you want them to do? Take out the fence and put in a lower one? They might do that if you pay for it, but unless you offer that, I'd say it's not likely to be received favorably.

eally pissed.

If you don't want to cause problems, get a few arborviteas or similar and plant them on your side, one right in front of the spot you're complaining about, the others spaced on either side. Or a few more and make it continuous. I'd rather look at them than a fence anyway.

Please .. sign-up to do volunteer work for a local charity -

- use all the hours that you no-longer need for fence maintenance ! .. choose a charity that serves the homeless or down-and-out - it will tend to give perspective to your " problem " ... John T.

You're upset because you can see part of a neighbors fence?

Plant some bushes and learn to only worry about things that matter.

Probably all that could be done now. If neighbor is using OP's fence as part of his fencing system, I would be annoyed too that neighbor had not consulted with him. On my former house, I my yard fenced with a chain link fence and used neighbors fence as back of my fence and attached to it but I discussed it with him in advance and paid him for the usage of his fence.

It would be illegal if neighbor crossed boundary line to attach to OP's fence but might not be worth fighting about. They say good fences, make good neighbors.

m really pissed.

I don't see any evidence, either from the description or from the photos, that the neighbor's fence is attached to his. You can clearly see the last post of the neighbor's fence right near his. Nor is there any obvious way you could attach the neighbor's perpendicular fence to his at the point where they meet. His complaint appears to be that he can see the very top portion of the neighbor's fence above his.

y fence? We moved

Put some sort of silly/funny fence topper on yours. Be thankful if your neighbors mind their own business and don't mow their grass at

Sure would look a lot better if his fence met yours at a post, wouldn't it???

He needs to paint or clad his facia boards too - - -

I'll trade neighbors with you, then you'd have some things you could really worry about. Are you planning on using a weed whacker to trim the grass on that pretty vinyl?

Judging from the condition of the houses, I don't think many people mow their lawns.
