If there was enough power they wouldn't have to overcharge you at certain times of day. You're spreading their load for them at your expense/hassle.
But some things have more than 2 choices, so more like 2x5x3x2x4x3x5x4x3x2x3x4x5x4x2x5x4 until you get to 8 billion.
