It reminds me of those days too. AI says that many Americans are Republicans, no matter what or Democrats, no matter what. They won't change sides just because they disagree with something. They stay with their tribe, because switching is unthinkable.

Yeah, I skipped that class in high school and opted for American History. ~

I'm not officially a Democrat, but I haven't voted for a single Republican since 2016. I used to vote a mixed ticket.

I don't see that changing in my lifetime, but you never know.

I'm tired of hearing you moan about how hot and humid your weather is.

Today's forecast for Kaneohe: High of 80, humidity 60%

Today's forecast for Ann Arbor: High of 86, humidity 57%

Heh. Good one. American History was required in my high school.

I've always been registered non-partisan. I'd look at the candidate and read what they stand for. Until recently, I've never been swayed by the signs candidates have posted around town until this election.

One candidate has a sight with her photo, party, and such but in addition is says "endorsed by President Trump" When I get the ballot, easy choice, her opponent gets my vote.

I have never understood the reason for registering for any political party. It should be enough to prove your residence in the riding and citizenship for elections that require that. Belonging to a party is basically a matter of funding the party through membership fees and being on their mailing list to provide additional funding.

My craze ex sister in law has very strange politics, mainly left wing, but she is a member of the Conservative party because she wants to vote for the worst possible candidates in the hopes they will turn people off them and maybe support her party. The funny thing is that I had thought that sort of nonsense was what got Trump nominated. When I heard he had won the Republican nomination for president I immediately assumed that Hillary Clinton was as good as acclaimed.

In about half of states, you can only vote in your declared party's primary election or caucus. If you want to vote in the primary, you must register as affiliated with that party.

It's an open secret that primaries are more important than the general election, but a lot of people choose to skip the primaries, and we end up with the extremes of the two parties selecting the candidates.

Your complacency if not adherence to the migrant-made death of our republic won't let you do more than unilaterally fail us all.

No one expected a pennyweight more from you anyway.

Is someone or something FORCING you to read his posts?

Grow the f*ck up.

You both know that shop class (like home ec) always an elective and American history was mandatory, grow up.

Classic Uniparty slave knee-jerk polarization.

It's so much easier than respectfully researching issues and positions.

That is unmitigated leftarded BULLSHIT!

Q: Are primary elections more important than general elections?

AI: Primary elections are not inherently more important than general elections...

Mine, too; I was being facetious. German history was not a class that was offered, World History, yes, but the history of a specific country, no.

She is a Trump follower/enabler. That is all I need to know. It tells me how she will handle issues and her position.

The list of former Trump supporters is littered with Rs.

MTG comes right to mind.

So for you it's just more low effort knee-jerk thinking, as per your usual TDS setting.

I have a new respect for MTG. She finally started to speak for herself. I'd possibly vote for her now.

Nowadays, one can get a doctorate on the history of one county in one state and wonder why they aren't richly rewarded when they graduate. Want a history of WWII? Read "Mein Kampf" by Adolph,(I haven't) and Winston Churchill's six book series on the times (I have, 2 1/2 times). Winston was even awarded a Nobel Prize for his work. I still have his books. I doubt anyone else will ever read them again. Winston was a helluva guy, a mover and a shaker. Oh, and he had Leonard in his name!

I don't think she changed -- Trump did. It's like Trump 1.0 when he lost Ann Coulter because he never built the damned wall.

It was not a "history of WW2", he wrote it in 1925.
