FYI...
TinyURLs are not trusted by many people. You never know what's on the other side of that link and it's suspicious. The regular URL copied from the address bar is more appropriate.
Is there a better way to shorten those links that are forever long .. ? .. to post in usenet or emails. John T.
How much effort is involved in copy/paste from the address bar? It's certainly less steps than creating a TinyURL.
The original URL provides lots of information about the hosting website and whether it's safe to click on it. That would be my suggestion.

Newsreaders can wrap the URL by inserting CR (or CRLF), making it a pain to use.
The best thing is to provide the full URL and the tinyurl.

Agreed. I trust Ed P. What I don't trust is my ability to catch troll trying to post as him. Some are obvious, some are not.

Just do not short them. Post the whole link inside angled brackets.
