My low-end GE microwave failed in 23 months. Nothing displays on the display. Other things plugged into same receptacle working fine.
What's the likely problem? JES1145SH1SS
The only think I have time or energy or, with the time I have, knowledge to fix is the fuse. Does anyone want to bet on that? I'll take either side is the odds are good.
Do you have any other suggestions?
A couple months ago I saw a lightning strike from the food to the cook chamber's wall, but I only noticed that once. I used it yesterday twice for a minute, and it was fine. No power surges since then afaik.
Wow, there's part of a page on this very topic:
He says yes, but you also have to find the short. My brother once put a matching, almost identical but incompatible, unsafe wire-shelf in his microwave, burned out the fuse and did a tiny bit of melting, and after I replaced the fuse it worked fine.
