Right after the very good decor advice it adds:

You have noticed, I hope, that the fire department is socialized, the police department is socialized, the public library, the paving and striping of the streets, the traffic signs and lights, the sewers, the regulation of drivers and of utilities. This is all socialism. And I'm sure I've forgotten some that readers can add

How come socialism is terrible when it doesn't pursue the faorite aims of so-called conservatives, but it's good when it provides something they can use? Oh, the answer is obvious.

So this webite you referred people to is trying to get parents to raise anti-government radicals (because even if they say their "conservative" being anti-government is radical.) The website wants its readers to raise enemies of the state. That's what it's saying.

They should specify which media. I assume they mean Fox and its ilk.

And it deoesn't mention the many lies that politicians say, at the national level, the vast majorityt of them by Republicans, starting with trump but including Kevin McCarthy, Mastriano?, in Pa. Josh Hawley, Rudy Giuliani, Ron Johnson, DeSantis, and hundreds of others.

So this article wants you to teach your children distrust apparently all the media and trust the lying (in most cases, Republican) politicians?

I've got a meatloaf in the oven, but there's no pumpkin spice involved. Still, it a sign of fall approaching. When it's 101 out lighting the oven isn't something that comes to mind. At 67 however...

You and I are gonna disagree about several things. First off, socialism is government owing the means of production. I didn't see anything in your list that is a means of production. No factory building cars or tvs. No farmers raising crops or a trucker getting them to the consumers. Government is a necessary evil. We should watch it because it is a monopoly. We elect a small part of it. The people writing the actual regulations are largely anonymous and will retire before they get fired for incompetence. James Madison writes better than I do. "If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself." And yes, we should question the media. The days of David Brinkley and Walter Cronkite are long gone. Maybe they did their best to report just the facts but they had to make choices about which stories to air. Humans are naturally prejudiced. I think it was Hannity one night who opened his show saying his is an opinion show. He gives his spin on the news and that's that. Are you sure the capital letters weren't more satire?

No it isn't. It is govt doing what can be done by non govt.

And then the world moved on just a tad and it turned out to be quite useful to have govt do all sorts of stuff like govt schools, the fire service, cops, the military, most roads, even get real radical and build ports, and even do some stuff like the TVA and the US Corps of Engineers.

It isn't and evil at all.

Hardly ever. You are free to not use the USPS if you don't like the way they do things. Same with schools and security.

But if the current govt stuffs up badly enough, you are free to give the bums the bums rush at the ballot box next election.

And while that lot decided not to have a standing army, it turned out to be a much more viable way to go than just militias.
