SWMBO and I are planning for next month's Fall Foliage tour through New England. We just booked a cottage in Bar Harbor Maine. The kitchenette makes me just a tad nervous.

Water, electricity and metal. What could possibly go wrong. ;-)

Quite the unit ! Fridge, stove-top, sink, even a vent fan ?

It's a rustic cottage, but we like that kind of stuff. Cabins, cottages, it's all good. The mattresses can sometimes be an issue, that's the main draw back.

Bar Harbor (in fact all of New England) gets booked up pretty early in the fall. In order to get 3 nights at this property, we have to move to a different cottage after the 2nd night. They take care of moving our stuff while we're out for the day and it's self check-in, so it's no big deal.

We also booked 3 nights in a 300 YO place in NH. The white door is the entrance to a studio apartment.

Funny thing is that the apartment has less of a kitchen than the cottage. ;-) Microwave and toaster oven but no stove top. Still, beats a m/hotel room by a long shot. So much more character.
