Electric Oven Temp Calibration?

Nov 30, 2003 0 Replies

Help. I own a 1970s Frigidaire electric range, model RE-36, Serial # 80CM 3180, with self cleaning oven. The oven temperature was 30 degrees high relative to the knob, so I decided to re-calibrate. Behind the knob is TWO adjusting screws, "B" and "C". I calibrated the oven temp using a mercury bulb and turning knob "B" which I assume means bake. The oven now operates within 10 degrees of the knob temp. Is the "C" screw for adjusting the self cleaning oven temp? If so, what is the procedure for this adjustment?. The temperature adjusting thermostat is a King Seeley KS64722. Hopefully, someone is out there who has experience with this old model. Thanks in advance. Jesse
