driving dump trucks over tarps?

A bit of an oddball question: I want to have several dump trucks of dirt delivered to my property to fill in a depression. It's about 50ft of lawn from the street in front of my house to the depression. Usually, I'd have to put down filter fabric and gravel to create a temporary entrance/exit for such heavy vehicles in order to prevent their tires from dragging dirt (and my lawn) back into the street. That's the rules around here. But, since it's so close to the road, I was wondering: I have an almost unlimited supply of cheap "tarps" from the local lumber yard. It's what their lumber is wrapped in when it's delivered, and they just throw them out. What if I put down a bunch of them to create a path from the road the the dump site? Do you think a double layer would survive 3-4 passes by a fully loaded dump truck? I just think it's crazy to have to lay down all that stone just as a temporary measure. Curious if anyone who uses heavy equipment has an opinion on this. Thanks Theodore

.. than this oh-so-erudite forum-full

of world-wide experts.. ?

How many axles? My pickup loaded will smoosh a tarp. Shovel the street off.

Point taken and I suspect THAT is the answer to my question. Thanks.

There will be big ruts in the lawn unless timbers or something are laid down first for a loaded dump trunk unless the ground is already very dry and compacted.

I don't suppose you can put in some sort of conveyor belt from the curb to the depression.

Or dump it by the curb and and push it onto the tarps and drag them to the depression

Does the ground freeze where you live? Get approximately how much dirt you need during winter. Heavy equipment can load the trucks even in winter.

Based on his email address, he lives in Yahoo Land. Where would you find the most Yahoos?

The tree people use mats that are made of steel and look like Blaw Knox grating.

When my neighbor had an in-ground pool put in a few months ago, the pool company put down 4x8 sheets of OSB to drive on.
